The Food Museum
Client: The Food Museum
Location: Stowmarket, Suffolk
Timeframe: 2024 – ongoing
The Food Museum’s visitor experience is shaped by the theme "Grow, Make, Eat", aligning interpretation across 84 acres, 17 historic buildings, and a collection of over 40,000 artefacts. Our focus is the Kitchen Project, which explores the "Make" strand by transforming how food production and preparation are presented to audiences. The project aims to deepen visitor engagement, broaden appeal, and strengthen the museum’s identity following its 2022 rebrand. New permanent displays will be installed in the Robert Boby Building and Edgar’s Farmhouse, alongside rotating exhibitions in the William Bone Building. We've completed Stage 3 in collaboration with graphic designer Gareth Nichols and supported the client in a successful Heritage Lottery Fund bid. Stage 4 is set to begin in September 2025.
