Kew Gardens Science Engagement Centre
Client: Royal Botanic Gardens Kew
Location: Royal Botanic Gardens Kew, London
Timeframe: 2024
The Science Engagement Centre at Kew will showcase the vital research Royal Botanic Gardens undertakes to protect plants and fungi, essential for life on Earth. Designed to engage visitors with global challenges such as climate change, habitat loss, and biodiversity decline, the centre combines immersive exhibitions, talks, digital experiences, and public programming.
By connecting visitors to Kew’s vast collections, scientific data, and expertise, the centre aims to inspire curiosity, improve scientific literacy, and promote environmental stewardship. The ultimate goal is to inform and motivate meaningful behavioural change in response to the nature crisis.
Working with Pimentel and Partners and the Kew client team, we developed the Stage 1 concept and interpretive vision to create a dynamic and accessible science hub within this world-renowned botanical institution.
